Welcome to the 

L5 DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION & TRAINING 

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is suitable for individuals who are already practising within the education sector or those who are not currently practising but have a significant amount of experience and now wish to consolidate that with a formal qualification. The course is a 120-credit qualification and is accredited by UK-Ofqual (RQF).  This qualification will enable students to teach in the Post-16 Tertiary Education Sector of Colleges and Community schools. Completion of the courses provides students with their Qualified Teacher Learning Skills (QTLS) which is equivalent to the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and sufficient to teach in state schools, as well as further education and specifically progress to the L6 Extended Diploma in Global Teaching Practice. In order to teach in state schools holders of the L5 Diploma in Education and Training Management can obtain membership of the UK Society of Education & Training (SET).

Learning Outcomes:
The qualification covers the knowledge, skills and management expertise required by teachers/trainers in the further education and training sector:
  • theories, principles and models in education and training, such as in relation to learning, communication, assessment, curriculum development and evaluation, and how to apply them to own practice.
  • teaching, learning and assessment in education and training, such as roles, responsibilities and relationships, using initial and diagnostic assessment to agree individual learning goals with learners, planning and delivering inclusive teaching, creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive teaching and learning environment and assessing learning.
  • understanding professionalism and the influence of professional values in education and training, the policy context of education and training, the impact of accountability to stakeholders and external bodies on education and training, the organisational context of education and training and how to contribute to the quality improvement and quality assurance arrangements of an organisation.
Progression Options:
IQF/RQF - L7 Post-Graduate Diploma in Education Leadership & Management via EduVisa School of Education followed by an MBA Thesis towards a full MBA Degree (Education). Completion of the L5 Diploma in Education and Training also provides students with their UK Qualified Teacher Learning Skills (QTLS) which is equivalent to the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and sufficient to teach in government schools and institutions of further education.
Entry Requirement:
IQF/RQF - L4 Diploma in Education & Training via EduVisa School of Education + 100 hours of teaching practice.
