ORIENTATION

Master essential study & learning strategies for ultimate exam success!

This course covers; how and why you learn, multiple study skills methods, how to read, take notes and study from books, prioritisation, visual and auditory methods, ensuring you don't miss anything out, how to preempt exam questions as well as a general study approach and a list of apps and web-based systems. This will all combine to produce a system which enables you to learn & recall faster and smarter. The Study Skills Course has the potential to be a powerful model for adult education. It is a challenging and invigorating environment that requires high energy on the part of the teachers and students. The interaction between the students, teachers, and curriculum creates a dynamic learning environment. It is an example of a community of lifelong students working together to achieve success. The importance of education and the student’s ability to pursue it take a front seat in the classroom and extend to other life roles.

In this course, the student will also discover his/her areas of strength and identify weaknesses pertaining to studying. The learner/student will also learn about his/her preferred learning channel, tips to organize studies, and ways to help to remember what is being studied. The skills the student will learn about in this course can be applied in other areas of life as well including that of career, or any activity that requires thought, planning, information processing, and self-discipline. The student will find that once effective study habits have been developed, the effort of studying and learning will become easier.

Instead of working harder, the student will have acquired the art of working smarter.
