ORIENTATION

Welcome to the EDUVISA Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) (UK-RQF).

This is a UK-Ofqual accredited qualification and is equal to a Bachelor 2nd Year in the UK university system. Successful candidates are thus awarded a Higher Diploma in Management (UK IQF/RQF-L5) which represents the completion of the 2nd Year of a Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA-Hons) generic curriculum in the UK university system. Completion of the L5HDip.Man (UK-IQF/RQF) qualifies the candidate to register for a Bachelor's in Business Honours Top-Up or Capstone Year (BBA-Hons) (Top-Up) at a UK or international university of choice.  

The Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) follows a generic curriculum that includes components of both the UniQual (IQF) and the Ofqual (RQF) qualification frameworks. This ensures that the student covers curriculum components taught at universities and business schools globally (including Southern Africa and the USA) while meeting the UK-Ofqual (RQF) prescribed curricula. The utilisation of both the UniQual and Ofqual Qualification Frameworks thus ensures that assessment methodology, intensity and study outcomes meet globally accepted requirements associated with prominent accredited academic institutions and guarantees that the learner/student. After completing his/her studies, he/she will be adequately prepared for both the academic and the competitive global management environment.

 

COURSE COMPONENTS

The Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) (UK-IQF/RQF) (Bachelor 2nd Year) consists of two academic phases based on a Formative (IQF) and Summative (RQF) Assessment approach required to meet the curriculum and accreditation requirements of the UK-Ofqual Qualification Regulator as well as UK university sector :

  • Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) (Bachelor 2nd Year) IQF-Theory Formation (Formative Module Assessment) Phase - The candidate progresses to register to write the Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) (Bachelor 2nd Year) (RQF-Summative Theory Examination) in order to proceed with a BBA-Hons Year at a British or alternative university of choice instead. Alternatively, the candidate may register directly for the Graduate Diploma in Management (L6GDip.Man) (Pre-MBA) (IQF-Formative Theory) as a short-cut towards the Master's in Business Administration (MBA) Degree Programme at a Southern African, British or alternative university of choice.

  • Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man) (Bachelor 2nd Year) RQF-Theory Examination (Summative Assignment Assessment) Phase  - Candidate progress to Bachelor in Business 3rd Year (BBA-Hons) Top-Up at a UK university.

     

    The Higher Diploma in Business Management (L5HDip.Man) (RQF) (Bachelor 2nd Year) was developed with support and feedback from UK/USA universities and business schools and covers key areas of management such as Finance, HR, Marketing and Personal Development. The qualification prepares learners for a range of careers.  It also provides access to the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) Degree at a range of universities in the UK, USA, Australia and Switzerland. The qualification is a combination of academic content adapted for the school level or the experienced working professional, incorporates extensive academic and industry-related exposure, and is an escalating step towards obtaining a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA-Hons) or Master in Business Administration (MBA) Degree.  

     

     

    COURSE DURATION  

    The Higher Diploma in Business Management (L5HDip.Man) carries 120 credits and typically takes 6 months of full/part-time study to complete - depending on the commitment and effort of the student.

     

     

    ASSESSMENT 

    An online test assessment will be scheduled for each Module as soon as the student has communicated his/her readiness to the Online Tutor to take the examination. The Online Test Assessment consists of a combination of multiple-choice, true-false as well as assignment-format questions. The pass rate for this course is 60%.

     

     

    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

    Students must possess a Diploma in Management (L5Dip.Man) (IQF) or equivalent UK-Ofqual Level 5 accredited qualification. 

     

     

    REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

    1. (L5-IQF) Module 1 - Managing in Today’s World

    Managers today have to manage in a state of constant flux and change and it is important to understand the underpinning fundamentals and how this constant change can and needs to be managed. The module explores the constants as well as the variables and by the end of the module, students will have a refined set of skills that can assist in the understanding of the management process.

    2. (L5-IQF) Module 2 - Managing Business Operations

    Effective management of the business operations undertaken within an organisation is the key to its overall success. No organisation will be able to achieve its objectives without effective management of its operations. This module is divided into six sections, each of which deals with one aspect of the management of business operations.

    3. (L5-IQF) Module 3 - Working in Teams

    Modern organisations use opportunities for team working as much as possible as this is an effective and proven method for getting the best performance from members of the workforce. Teams may be involved in all activities of an organisation – from production right through to financial decision making. This module looks at the role played by teams within organisations and how the human element interacts.

    4. (L5-IQF) Module 4 - Effective Business Communication

    Good communication is essential in any organisation in order to pass information from one person to another. This module explains the need for effective communication and demonstrates how this can be achieved within a work environment. The module begins by showing the importance of meetings as means of passing and reporting information.
