ORIENTATION

Welcome to the Module in Project Management Skills. This Course is credit-bearing towards the Diploma in Higher Education Access (Dip.HEA) which is a registration requirement towards the EDUVISA Graduate Degree Programme which ultimately leads to a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) or even a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) Degree. 

 

COURSE OUTCOME

In the past few decades, organizations have discovered something incredible: the principles that have been used to create enormous successes in large projects can be applied to projects of any size to create amazing success. As a result, many employees are expected to understand project management techniques and how to apply them to projects of any size. This course will give learners/students an overview of the entire project management process, as well as key project management tools that they can use every day. 

The following outcomes will be presented:

  • Define projects, project management, and project managers.
  • Identify the importance of the PMBOK and PMI.
  • Identify the five process groups and nine knowledge areas as defined by the PMI.
  • Describe the triple constraint.
  • Perform a project needs assessment and write goals, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Create key project documents, including the statement of work, project planning worksheet, and project charter.
  • Build a project schedule by estimating time, costs, and resources.
  • Understand and use the work breakdown structure.
  • Create project planning documents, such as a schedule, risk management plan, and communication plan.
  • Use planning tools, including the Gantt chart, network diagram, and RACI chart.
  • Establish and use baselines.
  • Monitor and maintain the project.
  • Perform basic management tasks, including leading status meetings and ensuring all documents are complete at the end of the project.

DURATION OF THE COURSE

The course could typically be completed within 3 - 4 days depending on the commitment and effort of the student. An online test assessment will be scheduled as soon as the student has communicated his/her readiness to the Online Tutor to take the examination. The pass rate for this course is 60%.

 

STUDY METHODOLOGY

Students access the prescribed Study Manual and the Online Test Assessment by clicking on the link in the left column of the Student Dashboard. Upon completion of the Online Test Assessment, the student will be activated for the next Course.

 

ONLINE TEST ASSESSMENT

The Online Test Assessment consist of a combination of multiple-choice, true-false as well as assignment-format questions.  

 

ACADEMIC PROGRESSION

Students who have successfully completed the Certificate in Human Resources Skills (L3Cert.Skill) may progress to the Diploma in Higher Education Access (L3Dip.HEA) in order to access the EduVisa UK Bachelor/Masters Degree Programme or alternatively continue to specialise in the subject matter by registering towards the Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management (L6PDip.Man) (SA) (IQF).

 

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
