BEYOND ADVENTURE - COVID-19 PROTOCOL

 

The EDUVISA Graduate School of Management accredited Beyond Adventure Campus is situated on the Bushman Sands Golf Estate at Alicedale in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. The Beyond Adventure Gap-Year Programme has not only been established to assist young men and women in becoming the leaders of tomorrow but also opens the doorway towards the EDUVISA Graduate School of Management UK-accredited Integrated Bachelor/Master's Degree Programme and a Bachelor (BBA, BBA-Hons, B.Sc.) or Master (MBA) Degree of Business Administration/Management. The Beyond Adventure Campus is a certified campus of EDUVISA Graduate School of Management (UK) and as such approved to include the Extended Diploma in Business Skills (EDip.Skill) in the Gap-Year Curriculum. Beyond Adventure Gap-Year students who complete the EDip.Skill Certificate automatically obtains entrance to the UK-graduate university system via EDUVISA Graduate School of Management and qualifies them to register for the online BBA/B.Sc., BBA-Hons or MBA Degree while still completing the Gap-Year programme.

 

REGULATORY BACKGROUND 

  • EDUVISA® Graduate School of Management offers UK-Ofqual accredited university programmes via its Online Learner Management System (LMS) including the following programmes: Certificate (Cert.Skill) , Diploma (Dip.Man) (Bachelor 1st Year), Higher Diploma (HDip.Man) (Bachelor 2nd Year), Graduate Diploma (GDip.Man) (Bachelor 3rd Year), Post-Graduate Diploma (PGDip.Man) (Masters 1st Year) and Master Degree (MBA-Top-Up).
  • EDUVISA® LTD is registered and duly incorporated with the UK Registrar of Companies for England and Wales in terms of the Companies Act 2006 (11015241) (Link).
  • EDUVISA PTY LTD is registered and duly incorporated with the Commissioner of Companies & Intellectual Property Commission (CIPRO) (2018 / 529544 / 07).
  • EDUVISA is a B-BBEE (Level 4) Compliant Company (SA).
  • EDUVISA® is a registered UK-ATHE Training Centre (2018 / 529544 / 07) and as such accredited with the UK Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
  • Beyond Adventure (SA) is registered as an EDUVISA® ATHE Training Institution with the UK Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) which may offer EDUVISA® (UK-Ofqual/UniQual) accredited graduate programmes via the EDUVISA Virtual University System (EVUS).

 

COVID-19 (UK) LOCK-DOWN PROTOCOL ARRANGEMENTS (2021/22)

The Beyond Adventure Campus has introduced the following social distancing and health protocols (relevant to the SA Covid-19 Lockdown) to accommodate the return and stay of Beyond Adventure students:

  • Social distancing in the dining room, lecture rooms, and church facilities as well as scheduled outdoor and adventure activities.
  • Students and staff are to wear masks for the first 14 days during the quarantine phase)
  • A maximum of 1 student per room will be allowed.
  • Students and staff are to be scanned daily.
  • Disinfectant points have been installed at key positions on campus.
  • Isolation rooms +/- 500 m from the main campus have been set up for isolation purposes.
  • Since the Beyond Adventure Bushman Sands Campus (Alicedale) is relatively isolated it is foreseen that students will be able to operate in a “semi-quarantined” environment once they have returned and passed the initial quarantine period. Beyond Adventure will be able to accommodate graduate students who may wish to study in a controlled environment under adult supervision.
  • As a precautionary measure against Covid-19 Beyond Adventure will make Ivermectin available to students under medical supervision. 

 

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS - ACADEMIC TUTORIAL SESSIONS

  • Students completing the Graduate Diploma (GDip.Man) and Post-Graduate Diploma (PGDip.Man) (Masters 1st Year) towards the Master of Strategic Management and Communication (MBA Degree) are required to return to the campus for one-to-one tutorial sessions as well as preparatory examinations during the period 2020.06.03 to 2022.12.15. Students who return to the Beyond Adventure Campus at Bushman Sands will only be allowed under strict hygiene conditions including the sanitising of clothes on arrival, completion of testing protocols and adherence to social distancing guidelines. One-to-one tutorial sessions with academic supervisors will be conducted in an isolated sanitised facility equipped with special Perspex separations and close-circuit video-conferencing equipment. In order to meet social distancing requirements meetings between students and lecturers will take place at different venues and on a one-to-one basis only.
  • The scheduled visit is a compulsory measure to prepare students for online studies for the rest of 2020/21 as well as the online examination scheduled for 2020 - 2022. Examinations will be completed via the EDUVISA Online Learner Management System.
  • Students will also complete a Post-Graduate Research Workshop Session (strict social-distancing protocols will be applied) during the academic tutorial phase in anticipation of the completion of dissertations after the Online Examinations in August 2020/21.
  • It will always be expected of students to wear masks, carry an industrial-strength sanitiser on their person and undergo screening tests daily.

 

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS - NON-SA RESIDENTS

Please note that only students residing in South Africa are required to report for scheduled academic tutoring sessions in preparation for final examinations and the submission of dissertations relevant to the 2021 - 2022 academic years. This is in line with the special request by the Minister of Higher Education to allow final years students to complete the academic year. Students residing outside South Africa, unfortunately, cannot be accommodated at this time due to cross-border quarantine regulations which involve the various government departments in the country of origin.
