OFQUAL GENERIC MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM

WHAT IS A GENERIC CURRICULUM?

EDUVISA Graduate School of Management follows an integrated generic curriculum certified by UniQual that corresponds with and is mapped against the key curriculum components prescribed by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (UK) (Ofqual). This ensures that the EDUVISA Business Studies curriculum is again mapped against the curriculum components of government-regulated universities and business schools in the UK, Europe and the USA as well as that of a broad spectrum of international Qualification Frameworks (e.g. EQF, SAQA, SCQF etc) that have been created by countries (e.g. Australia, South Africa etc) and geopolitical organisations (e.g. EU) to regulate their higher education environments.

Successful completion of the EDUVISA (Uniqual/Ofqual) Business Management curriculum thus confirms that the student has studied and been assessed on subject content that corresponds with the Bachelor/Masters's curriculum requirements for general university progression purposes and that the EDUVISA Uniqual/Ofqual qualification, as awarded and certified via the Academic Collaboration Agreements (NCC, ATHE, Universities etc), is recognised for BBA-Hons or MBA/M.Sc. Top-Up registration purposes at a spectrum of international universities or business schools.

This enables the student to complete ±75%-80% of the integrated Bachelor/Master's (BBA/MBA) curriculum via the EDUVISA Virtual University System (EVUS) followed by ±10%-15% at a prescribed UK or international university or business school of choice. The generic nature of the general EDUVISA University Curriculum enables EDUVISA to offer a Master's of Business Administration (MBA - Integrated) Degree which combines undergraduate (Bachelor 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year) with the post-graduate (Master 1st Year) curricula in a shortened period of between 24 and 30 months (depends on the commitment of the learner/student) at a much-reduced course fee (See BBA/MBA).

CURRICULUM-BASED MODULES

EDUVISA Graduate School of Management utilises a pedagogic-inspired Modular Academic System that allows the candidate to complete each academic year (for example Bachelor 1st Year) in his/her own time. Each programme consists of curriculum-prescribed modules that make up the specific course/qualification and that determine the merit weight of the specific course for accreditation purposes.

Each module is assessed with a Formative Assessment (Module Test) supplemented by a Summative Assessment (Course Assessment) at the end of the programme.

Successful completion of the online module test automatically allows the candidate to progress to the next module. The number of modules prescribed per academic year (programme) is determined by UniQual/Ofqual qualification requirement and varies between 6 and 12 modules depending on the weight of each module.  To accommodate the curriculum requirements of qualification frameworks outside the United Kingdom (Ofqual) such as the EQF, NQF, SQF and SAQA candidates are expected to complete additional country/region-specific Capita Selecta modules (UniQual) in addition to the standard UK-Ofqual curriculum.

This may also apply where students wish to link their Diploma (L4Dip.Man), Higher Diploma in Management (L5HDip.Man), Graduate Diploma (L7GDip.Man) or Post-Graduate Diploma (L7PGDip.Man) to a specialised outcome such as Human Resources, Legal Studies, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Pastoral Studies, Tourism Management etc.

COMPLETION RATE OF MODULES

There is no specific time allocation in which a Module needs to be completed, and the student may determine his/her own schedule depending on personal circumstances, commitment to studies and capacity to commit to the payment of tuition fees. As soon as a student has completed a specific module, course or academic programme he/she may proceed to register for the next academic level or curriculum component.
